Jon Robert Gleim, 53, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away on September 25, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1971, in Cook County, Illinois, and adopted by Robert and Carolee Gleim.

Jon grew up in Thornton, Illinois, and later lived in Kankakee and Peotone. After graduating from Thornwood High School, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. Following his military service, Jon held a few jobs before beginning a career at Accurate Grinding in Posen, Illinois. Driven by a desire for personal growth, he returned to school and earned a degree as a Medical Assistant with the intention of becoming a dialysis tech, but sadly, this didn't happen.  Eventually, Jon relocated to Florida, where he dedicated his time and talents to Goodwill in Port Orange, ultimately serving as a Textile Grader.

An avid collector, Jon had a deep passion for comic books and action figures, including beloved characters from GI Joe, Transformers, Marvel Superheroes, Anime, and Star Wars. His enthusiasm for comics, Lego, and 80s and 90s cartoons was infectious, and he delighted in sharing these interests with his nephew and nieces.

Jon is survived by his parents, Carolee (late Robert) Gleim, brother of Charlene (Emilio) Quezada, proud uncle of Kaitlin, Emily and Jeremy Quezada.  His grandparents, Alice (late Herman) Rauch, late George (Katherine) Gleim; aunt, Shirley Niemeyer, late uncle, Peter Niemeyer, late George (late Joanne) Gleim Jr. and numerous cousins, friends, and co-workers.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 485 Turnbull Bay Rd, New Smyrna Beach, FL, 32168, on November 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM.  In honor of Jon, we invite guests to wear white at the memorial service to celebrate Jon's life.

Jon will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious enthusiasm for collecting, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
