Jon M. "Grit" Satterfield, 79, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and formerly of Sandusky, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Jon was born in the hills of Lumberport, West Virginia. He graduated from Lumberport High School and attended West Virginia University in Morgantown. He served in U.S. Army for three years.

Jon then moved to Sandusky and was employed by Cedar Point and retired after 42 years as the Purchasing Manager.

After retiring, Jon and his wife, Cheryl, moved to Florida. Jon loved to play golf and sit and have a few beers after playing 18 holes with his friends. He also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, reading, impromptu casino trips, anything Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia Mountaineers, and watching the beautiful Florida sunsets.

Jon is survived by his wife, Cheryl Satterfield; former wife, Anna Satterfield; sons, Bryon (Cristie) Satterfield and Chad (Tracy) Satterfield; daughter, Angie (Paul) Good; stepdaughter, Ashley (Brandon) Uhl; stepsons, Bart (Sanja) Howe and Nick (Nikki) Howe; and grandchildren, Taylor (Liz), Mason (Catie), Madison, Rylie, Tessa, Devyn, Olivia, Jayce, Bruce, Evan, Harrison, and Erykah.

A celebration of life will be in Sandusky at a later date.
