Jordan Ray Rupert, 79, passed away on August 31, 2026, in The Villages, Florida, surrounded by the love of the family who meant so much to him.

Jordan was born on January 11, 1947, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. He attended Shippensburg University and later earned his master’s degree from Colorado State University.

Jordan began his career as a science teacher and taught for six years in upstate New York. He and his wife, Myra Nace Rupert, married in 1970 and built a life together that spanned more than 56 years.

Jordan and Myra spent much of their married life in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where they owned and operated Dutch Indoor Village, a large gift store in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country. After retiring to Florida approximately 20 years ago, they began a new chapter together, owning and managing rental properties.

Above all, Jordan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was always at the center of his life. He cared deeply about those he loved and consistently put his family before himself. Jordan had a positive outlook on life and genuinely enjoyed people. He loved conversation, took an interest in others, and could easily strike up a friendship with those around him. He was a wonderful husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a steady presence in the lives of those closest to him. His devotion to his family will be remembered most.

Jordan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Myra Nace Rupert; his daughter, Heidi Rupert Poliafico, and her husband, Joe Poliafico, of Denver, Colorado, and their daughters, Lauren Poliafico, who resides in Philadelphia, and Miranda Poliafico, who resides in Colorado; and his daughter, Melanie Rupert Keene, and her husband, Sean Keene, of Oviedo, Florida, and their children, Emerson Keene, who attends Florida State University, and Ryan Keene, who resides in Oviedo.

Jordan leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and a lifetime of memories created through more than half a century of marriage, raising a family, building businesses, and sharing a life together. His love for his family, his positive spirit, and the life he built with those he loved will remain an enduring part of his legacy.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
