Adamson Sr.
October 8, 1941 – June 1, 2024
Joseph (Joe) Adamson Sr. 72, Went to the Lord on June 1, 2024, peacefully with Family by his side at Hospice after several years fighting cancer. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY to Leo and Hazel (Baldwin) Adamson on October 8, 1941. The family moved to Ransomville, New York and belonged to Immaculate Conception Church where he served as a Altar boy. He went to Wilson Central Schools and graduated. He entered the U.S. Army as a 101st Paratrooper and achieved Specialist 4th Class.
After leaving the Army in 1963 he met the love of his life, Arlene Reitmulder, they married in 1964 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Niagara Falls. They lived in Lockport, NY where Joe worked at Harrison Radiator Div. General Motors. They had 2 children, Joseph Jr. and Kristine Lynn. Shortly after they moved to Burt, NY, enjoying the country again. After 34 years he retired from work and moved to Ormond Beach, Florida with his wife but keeping their Summer home on Wellesley Island in the Thousand Islands.
He was predeceased by his parents Leo and Hazel Adamson and his brother Roger and several Aunts and Uncles.
He enjoyed life and loved flying small aircraft, scuba diving, cruising, boating, Snowmobiling, traveling especially to Europe, watching sports, going to concerts and especially going to his Summer home at Wellesley Island in the Thousand Islands, NY.
He leaves behind a loving Family who will miss him, his wife of almost 60 years, Arlene (Reitmulder) Adamson, son Joseph Jr., Kristine Lynn, 5 Granddaughters Brittany (Kevin) Cloud, Baleigh (Adam) Biano, Nicole (Michael) McGuire, Karley (Brandon Meakin), and Haylee (Tyler) Howard. He also leaves 8 Great grandchildren, Brayden Meakin, Lucas Cloud, Lincoln Cloud, Baker Biano, Madison McGuire, Lilianna McGuire Grace Biano and Sophie Cloud.
He belonged to the American Legion Post 873 in Newfane, NY and transferred to American Legion Post 267 in Ormond Beach, Florida.
A Mass was held at Prince of Peace Church with Military Honors following the service. He is interred at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at Mims, Florida.
