Joseph E. Botwinski, Jr., 76, of Cape Coral, FL passed away on June 22, 2020 at Lee Memorial Health Park, Ft. Myers, FL. He was born on October 13, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph E. Botwinski, Sr. and Pauline (Kendryna) Botwinski. Growing up he was a great football and baseball player earning many medals and awards. He went on to be a football coach at Leo High School. Joseph previously worked as a Barber, then he worked as a Detective for the Chicago Police Department, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Fraternal Order of Police, the Moose, the Detective Association, and the Cop Shop. Joseph enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing, making movies, and watching TV. One of his favorite hobbies was listening to Talk Radio every night. He was always willing to help anyone in need of assistance. Joesph is survived by his loving wife, Mary Theresa Botwinski; his daughter, Julianne Velazquez; his son, Christopher E. Botwinski; his sister, Joanne Rybolt; and his 3 granddaughters. Services will be held at a later date at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
