IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph "Joe"
Gerard Auld
August 16, 1959 – December 17, 2024
Joseph "Joe" Gerard Auld, born on August 16, 1959, in Darby, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, in Grand Island, Florida, at the age of 65.
Joe was the beloved husband of Constance Auld, with whom he shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family, raising their four sons: Andrew (Katie), Ian, Joseph (deceased), and Ryan. He was the cherished grandfather of Avery, Liam, Kai, Walter, Arlo, and Aurora. Joe is also survived by his siblings Greg Auld, Anita Anderson, and was predeceased by Maureen Hayden and Walter F. Auld.
Joe attended St. Cyril of Alexandria in East Lansdowne, PA, and graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, PA. During high school, he worked for Pilot AirFreight, and after graduation, he began his professional career at United Parcel Service (UPS) in 1979 where he dedicated 20 years of service. Joe became a full-time driver in 1984 and worked there until 1998, forming lifelong friendships along the way. Joe also worked at Immaculata College and the West Chester Area School District before moving to Florida in 2004.
In Florida, Joe worked at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine before joining the Flagler County School District, where he served as an Inter-Office Mail Courier. Joe loved his time at Flagler Schools, where he was affectionately known as "Joe the Mailman," bringing smiles and cheer to every school and department he visited. He retired in 2016 from Flagler County School District.
Joe and Constance shared many happy years together, relishing their time after retirement. They loved spending time at home with their dog, Gracie, cooking, taking care of their garden, and enjoying each other's company. Joe was known for his warmth, humor, and the joy he brought to everyone he met.
Joe had many hobbies, including fishing, motorcycle riding, and making memories with his loved ones. A true fighter, Joe faced every challenge in life with courage, including his battle with cancer in recent years.
A memorial service to honor Joe's life will be held on January 6, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Tavares, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Joe's memory.
Joe's legacy of kindness, love, and determination will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As Joe and Connie would say, "We're peas and carrots."
