IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph David
Labruno
January 8, 1976 – June 18, 2025
Joseph David LaBruno, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with ongoing health challenges. He was surrounded by the love of his devoted family and the compassionate care of the ICU team at Shands Hospital, to whom the family extends their deepest gratitude.
Joe was the proud father of two daughters, Sophia and Deanne, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his loving mother, Lorraine Bodigheimer, his devoted stepfather, Edward Bodigheimer, his sister Judith LaBruno Gonzalez, his cherished nieces, Jaden and Jessa, and his father, Joe Geryk. He also leaves behind his loyal dog, Luna, who rarely left his side.
A graduate of Seabreeze High School, Joe went on to build a successful career as an air conditioning contractor. For 15 years, he owned and operated his own company, Absolute Heating and Air, where he earned a reputation for honesty, dedication, and excellence. He truly loved his work and took pride in helping others.
Joe was an avid fisherman who found peace and joy on the water. He was also an excellent cook, and a self-proclaimed "foodie". He had a sly sense of humor, a generous spirit, and an infectious laugh that could brighten any room. Even during the most difficult days of his illness, he never lost his appreciation for life or his deep sense of gratitude. He often said he was a "lucky man" to be surrounded by such loving and supportive family and friends.
Joe's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and love. He lived each day to the fullest and always had a kind word and a helping hand for anyone in need. His absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Joe will be remembered for the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the life he lived with open arms and a full heart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Baldwin Brothers Ormond Beach Chapel, 1185 W. Granada Blvd. #11, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
