Joseph J. Messina, 82, of Ocala, formerly of Deltona, FL and Long Island, NY passed away December 13, 2016.  He was born to Alfonso and Antoinette Messina and was Catholic by faith.  He retired as Deputy Director for the NYC Department of Transportation.  He is survived by his sons, Joseph (Barbara) of Long Island, NY, Frank (Patricia) of Ocala and Al (Loye) of Ocala; siblings, Al, Anthony and Jenny; grandchildren, Kyle, Joseph, Jesse and Ashley and great grand daughter Gianna Marie.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene and siblings, Frank, Wisty and Fran.  Visitation will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremation (954 E. Silver Springs Blvd. Ocala 352-236-5884) on Thursday (Dec. 15th) from 3-5PM.  A Memorial Service will be held at the 4PM hour with Father Patrick Sheedy Officiating.
