Joseph John Tripodi, 81 of Edgewater died Friday, May 11, 2012.  Joseph was born July 11, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, New York.  He served his country with United States Army, 26th Infantry, as a Medic.  Joseph married the love of his life, Melida on December 28, 1957.  They settled in Mahopac, NY where he worked for the New York Bell Telephone Company for 30 years.  Joseph and his wife moved to Edgewater in 1993 from New York.  He enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and going to the YMCA.  Joe will be remembered as a family man and having a wonderful sense of humor.  He was a devoted husband to Melida and will be missed dearly.  Joseph is survived by his loving wife, three children, Michael and his wife, Jo Tripodi, David and his wife, Susan Tripodi and Joanne and her husband, Danny Young;  eleven grandchildren and brother, Bruno and his wife, Jeanne Tripodi.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach.  A visitation will be held 6-8PM, Monday at the Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 1 N.
