Joseph F. Wodjenski, 92 of Ocala, Fl., Passed Peacefully on Jan. 31, 2024. Biography:

Joe was born in Plattsburgh, NY on Feb. 8, 1931, to Alex and Mary (Ryan) Wodjenski. He graduated from St. John's Academy in Plattsburgh with his High School Diploma. He married Anne Brennan in 1954. They had three children. Anne passed away in 2002 and Joe later married Gloria Pechie in 2014.

Joe joined the US Marine Corps in 1952. He was Honorably Discharged that same year due to medical reasons. After being discharged Joe started his life career in the airline industry. He worked at Plattsburgh Airport for Eastern Airlines. In 1964 Joe was transferred to Newark International Airport where he was an Operations Manager and Air Traffic Controller for Eastern. During those years Joe lived with his family in Scotch Plains, NJ. Joe and his wife Anne became very involved in local politics. Joe was the campaign manager for Anne who was the Mayor of Scotch Plains in 1977. Joe was then transferred to Miami International Airport in 1980. Joe and his family lived in Miami, Fl. From 1980 to 2000. Joe retired from the airline industry in 1987 and moved with Anne to The Villages, Fl in 2000. His favorite hobbies after retirement were golf and bowling, where he was very active in The Villages golf community with his friends. After Anne's passing, years later, Joe met his second wife Gloria in The Villages. They moved to Ocala in 2012 and were married in 2014. Gloria passed away in 2020. Joe continued living at his home in Ocala until his passing.

Joe is survived by his three children Mary Kim (Jules) Scogna., Joseph B. (Victoria) Wodjenski, Sheila Anne (Dennis) Hurtt. Joe leaves four grandchildren, Jules V (Rebecca) Scogna, Kristi Anne Scogna, Melina Wodjenski and Elizabeth Anne (Nicholas) Cox. Joe has two surviving sisters Joan Jarvis and Kathleen Miller who live in upstate New York. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his brother Thomas Wodjenski and his parents Alex and Mary.

Graveside services for Joe will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at NOON at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens 5050 SW 20th Street Ocala, Florida 34474.
