Joyce Elane FitzGerald (nee Chiles), 83 of New Smyrna Beach died Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at her home with her family by her side.  Joyce was born February 7, 1936 in Asheville, NC to the lat Mattie and Marney Chiles.  She married the love of her life, William "Bill" FitzGerald on March 1, 1958.  Joyce worked for the Veteran's Administration for many years and moved to New Smyrna Beach in January 1998 from Nashville, TN.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bill; two sons, Brian and Kyle; daughter, Laurie Nelson and six grandchildren, Brittany and Matthew Nelson, Evan, Wade, Katie and Jake FitzGerald.  Interment will be held at Cape Carnival National Cemetery, Mims, FL.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org or Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater, FL. www.halifaxhealth.org/services-treatments/our-services/hospice-care/giving/donation-portal
