Joyce K. Thomas, age 82, of Ocala, FL passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017. She was born in Danville, IL on October 2, 1934. While her two sons were attending Highlands Elementary Joyce worked as a Teacher's Aide. Later she worked as a  Clerk for the City of Ocala Fleet Management from 1983 to 1996. Joyce enjoyed family, doing puzzles, her dogs, and watching sports – especially the Seminoles. Her greatest joy was watching her granddaughter dance and her grandson play baseball.

She is survived by her son Chris Thomas of Ocala FL; son Mark Thomas and his wife Denise of Ocala, FL; granddaughter Brianne Thomas of Tallahassee, FL; and grandson Matt Thomas of Ocala, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Thomas, mother Emma Pauline Krauel, and father Everett Raymond Krauel.

Graveside service will take place at Highland Memorial Park, 1515 NE 3rd St., Ocala, FL 34470 at 11 a.m. Friday May 5, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Humane Society of Marion County, Inc., PO Box 1542, Ocala, FL 34478.
