Judith Proffitt Haase of Ormond Beach. Florida passed away on March 17, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Judy was born May 11,1941 in Queens New York to Jack and Eleanor Proffitt, who preceded her in death.

After graduating from Martin Van Buren High School and Berkeley College she went on to become a Legal Secretary at GTE. In 1961 she married her High School sweetheart Edward Haase. In 1962 their first of 3 children were born, and they moved to New Hyde Park, N.Y. Judy became a full-time loving mother and wife. Judy loved swimming and earned an American Red Cross certificate to teach swimming and enjoyed teaching young ones how to swim.

Always interested in medicine she went on to earn a certificate to teach CPR, and taught it at many organizations and businesses. In 1983 they moved to Charlotte, N.C. where her interest in fine jewelry led to a part-time job selling jewelry. In 1996 Judy and Ed retired to Ormond Beach, FL and became active in their Homeowners Association and Christ Presbyterian Church.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, Edward Haase; her son Edward Haase, daughter Gail Haase, daughter Susan (Mac) Jensen, granddaughters Sadie Jensen and Margrethe Jensen, sister Dorothy (Vincent) Ciarlante, sister Susan Proffitt, brother Jonathan Proffitt, and many nieces and nephews.

An 11am memorial service is scheduled for Saturday July 26, 2025, at Lighthouse CPC. Following the service a reception will be held at the Ocean Side Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy's name can be made to Lighthouse Christ Presbyterian Church , 1035 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, Fl. or to the American Red Cross .
