Obituary

Judith Marie Tuttle, née Sczykutowicz, formerly of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026 at Cates House in Ocala, Florida surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on January 6, 1942, Judy's life was a testament to the values of family, dedication, and resilience.

Judy leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication in her surviving children, daughters Kathy (Chris) Nastally, Sharon Hipps, Kimberly (Charles) Jones, grandchildren Haley Nastally, Kristen Nastally, Sarah (Shawn) Lyles, Shawna Hipps and Kevin Hipps, and six cherished great-grandchildren. Her family was an important part of her world where she was a devoted homemaker, mother, and caring wife. Judy was preceded in death by her husband Robert, their beloved son Edward, her parents, and her brother.

On October 21, 1961, Judy married Robert Tuttle, in Jackson, Michigan. Together, they built a stable life raising their four children. Judy was the cherished daughter of Bernie and Frances Sczykutowicz. Judy had worked for Aeroquip, assisted her father with the family-owned business, attended Jackson community college prior to starting a family. She also contributed her talents to an accounting office and retail establishments in Jackson. Her commitment to hard work was matched only by her devotion to her family.

While living in Jackson, Judy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed baking and canning. She had a particular love for daffodils, tulips and iris. Her many artistic talents were expressed in her sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, crocheting, and knitting. Judy also loved a good book, word search puzzles and the challenge of a jigsaw puzzle and a good chat with a neighbor. She was handy with carpentry tools and assisted her husband in the building of their family homes.

Her favorite places to travel were the Amish areas of Pennsylvania and colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, various places in Michigan and St Charles, Missouri. She loved primitives, colonial and American history. Her favorite sayings, "I'll get to it when the time comes" and "later gator" will echo fondly in the hearts of those who loved her.

In honor of Judy's life, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the many caregivers who assisted them in Judy's care, especially the staff at the E.W. & Lucille Cates House in Ocala, Florida. Their compassionate and dignified care for Judy, coupled with kindness, love and respect will always be remembered.

A graveside ceremony will be held in Jackson, Michigan to honor Judy's life, date and time to be announced. Her family and friends take comfort in the memories of her smile, strength, and unwavering love. Judy's spirit will forever bloom in the gardens she so dearly loved and in the hearts of all who knew her.
