Judy
Monahan
Dec 14, 1948 — Apr 8, 2025
It is with heavy heart that I am announcing the passing of Judy Monahan at 5:26 AM April 8, 2025, at the Cornerstone Hospice Home in The Villages, FL.
Born Judy Robinson in Westfield NY, December 14, 1948. Judy moved to Canandaigua, NY in 1970, met her future husband Dave, and enjoyed over 40 years of living in a country home outside Canandaigua until they moved south.
Anyone who knew Judy will always remember her as a smiling, energetic girl who would go out of her way to help others. Besides sewing and crafting, her biggest enjoyment was Trap Shooting, which took her up and down the east coast, and around Canada, competing in Trap Shooting events. On any given weekend and in all kinds of weather, she could be found enjoying the art of breaking Clay Pigeons, and chatting with all of her Trap Shooting friends.
Judy wore many volunteering hats, Secretary and eventual 1990 President of the Canandaigua Sportsmen's Club in New York, and after moving to The Villages, FL became heavily involved with Stitching and Sewing groups, making many new and cherished friends.
She leaves behind her husband of 53 years (April 15th) Dave; sister Barbara Klock of Grand Island, NY; along with several nieces; and many longtime friends. She will be missed by her special Canandaigua area friends who would visit Florida each winter and enjoy time with her. Judy was predeceased by her parents John and Emily Robinson of Westfield, NY; and a grandniece and grandnephew.
A special thank you to her "Maui Doc" (her words) Dr. Greg Park who would call and give her encouragement and suggestions on the treatments of her 45 year Crohn's disease battle. It was his suggestion of a new med (at the time) Entyvio, that gave her many years of remission which made her life more bearable.
At Judy's request, there will be no calling hours or service, and she will be at rest in the Woodlawn Cemetery , Canandaigua, NY. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449. Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com .
