IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia Ellen
Jolly
October 13, 1942 – February 16, 2026
Julia Ellen “Judy” Jolly, 83, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. Born on October 13, 1942, Judy lived a life marked by devotion to family, faithful service, and a generous heart.
At just 18 years old, Judy began her career in Washington, D.C., serving as a secretary with the Bureau of European Affairs at the U.S. State Department. Her dedication and professionalism would define her working life. She later worked as secretary to the launch operations manager at NASA, contributing in her own steady way to America’s space efforts. She continued her career at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia — where she met the love of her life, James Bradley “Jim” Jolly. They were married in August of 1974, beginning a loving partnership that would span more than five decades. Judy continued her secretarial career until her retirement, earning the respect and appreciation of all who worked alongside her.
Judy was a devoted wife to Jim and a loving mother to her four sons: Shaughn Forney and Kyle Forney from a previous marriage, and Brad Jolly and Jason Jolly, whom she and Jim welcomed together. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jim; her children Brad (wife Jody) and their children John and Julianne; Jason (wife Amanda) and Jason’s children Garrett, Nathan, and Kaitlyn; Shaughn and his son Morgan; and Kyle. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Meikle (husband Stuart), two great-grandchildren, Aubreigh and Wyatt Forney; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Judy was a gifted and creative woman who found joy in sewing, quilting, and crafting beautiful pieces for those she loved. She enjoyed playing Mahjong, researching her family genealogy, and preserving family history for future generations. She was also an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, having at least one family member in her lineage who aided in achieving the United States’ independence. A faithful and active member of Westside Baptist Church, Judy faithfully served alongside other women at the church. Her faith was not only something she professed, but something she lived daily through kindness, service, and generosity.
Judy was a gifted giver. She found deep joy in helping others and was always ready with a thoughtful gesture, a handmade gift, or a quiet act of support.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor McCain; her father, Hubert Norris; and her stepfather, Jack Walters.
Public visitation will be held Thursday, February 19, at 10:00 AM at Westside Baptist Church, 1085 Mason Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida 32117, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place Friday, February 20, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Oklahoma City at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westside Baptist Church to bless the student and youth ministries, a cause close to Judy’s heart.
Judy’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity lives on in the family she nurtured and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
