Julia E. Wissell, beloved wife, stepmother, sister, daughter, and cherished friend, lived life exactly the way she wanted—boldly, confidently, and unapologetically.

She was intelligent, witty, well-traveled, and never afraid to speak her mind. Julia had a wonderful sense of humor and a personality that could light up a room. She often became the life of the party, bringing laughter, energy, and a sense of adventure wherever she went. She had a special gift for making people feel welcome and valued, creating countless memories with friends and loved ones.

An avid traveler, Julia embraced adventure and loved discovering new places, meeting new people, and experiencing all that life had to offer. She collected stories and memories throughout her journeys and delighted in sharing them with others. Her sharp mind, quick wit, and independent spirit made her truly one of a kind.

In recent years, COPD gradually took much from Julia. The disease distanced her from many of the activities, places, and people she once enjoyed and slowly dimmed the vibrant spark that so many knew and loved. Yet Julia was never defined by her illness. When the time came, she left this world on her own terms, just as she had lived her life—with courage, independence, and an unmistakable spirit.

Julia will be remembered not for the illness she battled, but for the remarkable woman she was: vibrant, fearless, funny, worldly, adventurous, and unforgettable. Though she is gone, the stories she told, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
