Obituary

Julian H. Scott, age 74, was born August 18, 1950 in Selma, AL and died peacefully on November 17, 2024, after a brief illness. Though his passing brings sorrow, we know Julian is with our Heavenly Father and his loved ones who went before him.

Julian grew up in Selma and graduated from Parrish High. Early on, Julian was known for his famous baseball hits, home runs and wins. Later, he went on to graduate from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, with a BA degree in Education, majoring in Literature. Throughout his life, Julian was an avid Crimson Tide fan.

Julian was a Regional Sales Manager for Atlanta Belting Company in NC and GA. He became National Sales Manager for Kanaflex in the Industrial Hose Business in GA. Upon retiring, he and his wife moved to Ocala, FL, where they were caregivers for his beloved parents, Allan D. Scott and Laura Singletary Scott, who are deceased.

One of his finest attributes known to many was his love for people and his generous time and service to his Christian church and community. He led and facilitated church recovery workshops while living in GA and FL. Throughout his life, Julian had a keen sense of humor and was respected for his good moral character. The sports he enjoyed were fly-fishing, golf and playing table tennis. He was known as Papa and Grandpa to his grandchildren who love him very much.

Julian is survived by his wife, Jean Scott (from N. Canton, OH), who lives in Ocala. He has two surviving sons, Allan Scott (w. Leah, deceased), from Clemmons, NC, and Chris Scott (w. Erin), from Charleston, SC. In addition, he has two stepsons, Doug Babics (w. Kelley), from Novi, MI and Ben Babics, from Walled Lake, MI. Julian is survived by his brother, Larry Scott, who lives in Ocala. His two sisters, Catherine S. Parker and Linda S. Schwan, are both deceased.

Julian has eight grandchildren: Julian and Josh Scott (parents: Allan and Leah Scott); Katelyn, TJ and Chase Lee (parents: Doug and Kelley Babics); Noah, Libby, and Ruby (parent: Ben Babics).

A Celebration of Life for Julian will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at Christ Church Ocala, located at 6768 SW 80th Street, Ocala FL 34476. All friends are welcome.

In honor of Julian Scott's request, donations can be made to Hospice of Marion County FL.
