Karen Hamilton Gutierrez aged 60, of Edgewater Fl, passed away on August 7th in the company of her beloved mother and daughter after a long battle with Huntington's Disease. Karen was born on July 4th, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland to her mother, Barbara Hamilton and her father, Alan Hamilton.

Karen had a passion for writing and horseback riding when she was young. She got her masters degree to become and English teacher. She spent many years teaching and coaching cheerleading. She retired from teaching when her only daughter was born. She was always referred to as the kindest person anyone had ever met. She had a knack for seeing the good in people. She was always understanding and forgiving. After being diagnosed with her terminal illness she spent years in the care of her loving mother and daughter. Even in the end she never let the disease weigh on her amazing spirit and always kept a sense of humor. She would spend every last moment loving and supporting her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alan Hamilton.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Carmen Gutierrez, her mother Barbara Hamilton, her sister Lynn Gleason, and her nephew Tyler Gleason.

A private service will be held for her close family and friends.
