Karl C. Barlay, 81, of Ocala, FL passed away on February 5, 2018.  Karl was born on August 2, 1936 to Karoly and Katalin (Benczekivits) Barlay in Budapest, Hungary.  He and his wife moved to Florida five years ago from Columbus, OH.  Karl was a retired Electrical Engineer from Bell Laboratories, a poet, translator and photographer.  As a former member of Faith Lutheran Church of Whitehall, OH, Karl also served as Vice President, President, Parish Leadership Council, Worship Leader and a current member of Joy Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ocala.  He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Barlay.  Karl is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla Barlay of Ocala; daughter-in-law, Sheri Wein Barlay of Columbus, OH; daughter, Erin Barlay of Hilliard, OH; son, Andrew Barlay of Columbus, OH; step-daughter, Christine (Mark) Conkle of Upper Arlington, OH; grandchildren, Victoria, Rebecca, Koen and Katharine Barlay; Drew and wife Andrea Caudill of Mr. Vernon, OH; Jordin and Nicholas Caudill, Hannah, Mason and Mathew Taphorn; Lauren, Erin and Adam Karap; great grandchildren, Grace and Hope Caudill; sister, Katalin Barlay and nephews Gergely, Miklos and Mihaly of Budapest, Hungary.  Memorials to celebrate Karl's life will be held in Ocala and Columbus on later dates to be determined.  Arrangements by Baldwin Brothers, Ocala 352-236-7813.
