Kathleen "Kay" Alves, 88, passed away on December 30,2023 at home in New Smyrna Beach, FL. She was born in Great Neck, NY and has been a resident of Florida since 1988. She was one of the founders of the Long Island Ladies Club and enjoyed going to different local restaurants monthly. Kay worked for 10 years doing clerical work at Bert Fish Hospital. Kay was an avid golfer and member of the New Smyrna Golf League. She enjoyed traveling with her husband while he was alive and later with her daughter Kay after his passing. She enjoyed gambling from time to time,  and playing tennis.  She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Edward "Ted" Alves who passed away in 2005. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tina Mancuso and her husband Jim; Eddie Alves and his wife Susan; and Kay Bartlett and her husband Warren; grandchildren, Michael Mancuso, Christine Mancuso, Amy Miller, Tim Alves, Kelly Ehrhardt, Geri Alves, Mindy Engstrom, Marcus Alves, Catherine Louderback, Rie Alves, Christina Alves, Amanda Bartlett and Zachary Bartlett and 10 great grandchildren. Friend may call Monday, 1:00pm-2:00pm, January 8,2024 at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm. Interment Sea Pines Cemetery, Edgewater. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
