Kathleen L. Chovanec of St. Charles, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 20 ^th , 2021. She was 83 years old. Kathleen was born in Cloquet, Minnesota, on February 27, 1938, to the late Lawrence Wellman Fehling and Hazel Marie (Belair) Fehling.

Kathleen retired from Spraying Systems Co. where she worked as a Benefits Coordinator in Wheaton, Illinois. During her free time, she enjoyed getting her daily exercise by walking and doing yoga. She was an avid reader, involved in multiple Bible study groups, loved playing cards with the girls, going to lunch with friends, loved shopping and was always up to see a movie. She loved to travel and had recently visited Hawaii, New Orleans, Colorado and had planned on visiting Israel in early 2022.

Kathleen lived her life to the fullest and did not let this world stop her from living. She was always up to trying new things, such as helicopter rides, horseback riding, fishing, riding ATVs, and most recently Goat Yoga.

She is survived by her children, Jay Krug of Bartlett, IL, Kelly (Mike) Johnson of Geneva, IL, Allison (Carter) Bitner of Kingston, IL, brother, Larry Fehling of Howard, CO and grandchildren, Kyle Johnson of Wheaton, IL and Kailin Johnson of Chicago, IL (children of Kelly and Mike Johnson).

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Robert Chovanec of Pingree Grove, IL, who passed away on May 25, 2018, her sister, JoAnn Johnson of Bemidji, MN, who passed away on August 5, 2017, and her parents, Lawrence and Hazel Fehling.

Revelation 2:10, our Lord Jesus Christ tell us, "Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown." Kathleen (Kay) lived and died by that faith and has now been bestowed the crown of eternal life.

On Friday, June 11, 2021, a Visitation will be held at 3:00pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 4pm, both located at St. Peter Lutheran, 18N377 Galligan Rd., Gilberts, IL 60118 (Dundee Township).
