Kathleen (Perreca) Detzel passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15th surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 10th,1949 to Sam and Rose Perreca in Dearborn, Michigan, and grew up with her favorite brother, John.

If you knew Kathy, then you know she will be remembered for many things but especially for her wonderful personality. She had the best laugh that made you want to laugh along with her. Kathy loved people, and really didn't have many strangers in her life. Whether she met you waiting in a grocery store line or sitting at a music venue, she was bound to get you talking and make a new friend. Kathy loved reading, music, ice cream, being with family and friends, playing games, her flowers and watching movies along with her girls. She loved family and friends fiercely, and was such a loyal person.

Kathy will be greatly missed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, David Detzel. Together, they enjoyed a great life and raised two loving daughters, Kelly Detzel Hess and Karen Coleman. Kathy is also survived by her sons-in-law, Kris Hess and Jamie Coleman and her four granddaughters, Megan, Abby, Jillian and Delena who made her immensely happy.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for Spring 2027. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to a charity of your choosing in Kathy's memory.
