Kathleen Peterson (Gustafson) 92, of Port Orange, Florida passed away June 14, 2025.
Kathleen was born Julia Kathleen David on August 10, 1932 in Gary, Indiana.
She became a secretary at a lumber yard, then a church and years later retired as an elementary school secretary. (She favored paper clips over staples). She enjoyed her career and meeting people.
She married Robert D. Gustafson in 1968. he had two children, Pamela Bessett (husband Rick) and Robert Gustafson II (wife Paula). Kathleen loved them as her own. She and Robert moved from Indiana to Oviedo, Florida in the early 70's. They were married for 32 years. She became widowed in 2000 and moved to Port Charlotte, Florida. Her brother, Gerald David, introduced Kathleen to Virgil E. Peterson. Kathleen and Virgil were married in 2006. They enjoyed each other for 12 good years before his death in 2018. Virgil has a daughter and 6 step children. Kathleen was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to all of her family.
She enjoyed playing a weekly fun game of golf with her friends. Her quiet time was filled with reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. Pink carnations were Kathleen's favorite flowers. She was a generous, loving, kind and thoughtful, true respected lady with a sense of humor. She will missed by many.
Kathleen will be laid to rest at All Faiths Memorial Park: 1390 Park Drive, Casselberry, Florida on Wednesday July 23, 2025.
Kathleen is survived by her 9 step children and many great and great, great grandchildren; one brother, Gerald David (wife Linda) of Sebring, Florida.
