Kathleen Anne Schumacher of Orlando, FL, died peacefully at home following a courageous battle with cancer on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 2016. She was surrounded by her family. Kathleen, best known as Kathy, Freak-Toes, Freak-Toes-Larue , Toes, Crazy Single Cat Woman or Mama – depending on your relationship with her – was inspirational at home, at work and at play.
Her family cherished her loving and generous spirit.
Her friends reveled in her spontaneity and fun-loving nature.
Co-workers valued her feisty, "get-it-done" attitude.
Along with her family and friends, Kathy loved her feline companions who filled her life with joy – Shelby (still living) Shadow, Tuna Moon and Skylar.
Kathy worked with her father, the Executive Director of AESF as an Exhibit Manager. She was with the American Electroplaters Surface Finishing Society (AESF) for 19 years. Following her departure from this organization, Kathy joined the Florida Department of Environmental Protection working as an administrative assistant.
Kathy was a loving mom to Michael Brandon, 25, who continues to reside in her home.
She was a wonderful daughter to John Howard Schumacher, Jr. and Sally Eleanor Boudreau Schumacher who both reside in Orlando, Fl.
Kathy was a supportive sister to Helen Schumacher Donaher and her husband, Kevin of Burlington, Connecticut, Joan Schumacher of Manhattan, New York, John Schumacher of Oakland, California and Dianne Schumacher Zywica of Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Sadly, Kathy was predeceased by her brother Lawrence (Larry) Schumacher of Ocoee, Florida.
In addition to her siblings, Kathy has many loved uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Kathy was raised in a strong Catholic family and has maintained a strong Christian faith.
This amazing woman was celebrated at a small family celebration on Sunday, Nov. 27th. She will have a private celebration of her life some time in early December. Interested viewers should contact The Baldwin Cremation services at 407 – 622 – 0000 .
