Obituary

Keith Edward Walters, 71, died at his Palm Coast, Florida home, March 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was riding his Harley motorcycle New Year's Eve in his residential area when a driver backed out of his driveway, striking him. He never recovered from his injuries.

Keith was born January 5, 1951, in Marshall, Michigan to Edwin (deceased) and Beatrice (Watson) Walters, not quite weighing two pounds. He attended Marshall schools, graduating from high school in 1970. He married his high school sweetheart, the former Peggy A. Laupp (deceased in 2018) on November 14, 1969. He started working at Felpausch in Marshall while still in high school, working there for 35 years. He then went to work for Little Debbie's, where he owned his truck and had a regular route. He was also a volunteer fireman for Marengo Township for a while. After Peggy retired from her employment they moved to Palm Coast, Florida. He was an expert marksman and enjoyed deer hunting on his father's-in-law farm. He loved to read about and discover Civil War and history. He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Assn., holding the office of Vice President. He attended United Methodist Church of Palm Coast, where he served as an usher and assisted at church activities, especially the church cookouts that he enjoyed. Throughout his illness, he never lost his positive attitude.

Keith is survived by his son Eric (Trish, deceased) Walters of Marshall, MI, daughter Michelle Westra of Costa Rica, grandchildren, Morgan Walters of Lake Worth, FL and Brian Spencer of Marshall, MI, great-grandson Maverick Walters of Lake Worth, FL, his mother Beatrice Walters of Kenderville, IN, his brother Michael (Debbie) Walters of Marshall, MI, brothers-in-law, David Laupp of Marshall, MI and Tommy (Vicki) Laupp of Albion, MI. He is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews, his life-long friend David Begg, and special friends, Wilma Washborn and sister-in-law Wendy Horseman, and his beloved pet dog "Pumpkin", who stayed at his bedside, keeping him warm.

The Memorial Service will be held at United Methodist Church in Palm Coast, FL on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00am, with luncheon following.

The Funeral Service will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Marshall, MI on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00am, with Committal Services at Oakridge Cemetery and luncheon following.
