IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Allen
Williams
March 22, 1948 – April 19, 2025
Kenneth Allen Williams, 77, passed peacefully at his home in Fort Myers, FL on April 19, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by curiosity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Ken was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, and grew up in the nearby town of Matawan. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami in 1970, and remained a proud, lifelong Hurricanes fan.
His professional journey began in marketing, with leadership roles including Brand Manager at Miles Laboratories, Manager of New Product Development at Hudson Pharmaceutical, and Product Manager for Plumrose USA.
Later, Ken followed his entrepreneurial spirit and founded Cape Tool & Tackle in Cape Coral, FL. He ran the business together with his wife, Teresa, and brother-in-law, Wayne, for more than two decades with integrity, creativity, and care for the local community.
Ken's deep sense of service extended far beyond his career. In the 1970s, he served as a consultant and advisor to Special Olympics USA and helped organize the first NYC Health Fair at the South Street Seaport. Decades later, he chaired the "Ride for a Cure" fundraiser in Ocala, raising support for Alzheimer's research and continuing his lifelong commitment to helping others.
His retirement years were filled with both adventure and peace in Ocala, FL. Ken loved outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, tennis, softball, golf, and horseback riding. He also enjoyed quieter pursuits such as reading, playing chess, and walking the trails with his dogs. He was a proud member and past president of the Sun Country Trail Blazers, continuing to lead and inspire in every season of life.
A man of deep faith, Ken was a dedicated member of Meadowbrook Church in Ocala, FL where he served on the Dream Team for nearly 15 years. He gave generously of his time and talents, always eager to support others and contribute in meaningful ways.
Ken was known for his quick wit and gift for storytelling. He valued deep, meaningful conversation over small talk—relishing a good debate, a clever joke, and the company of those who made him think and laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa; his children, Christopher (Kimberly) Williams, Erin (Milot) Dossous, Lauren Bond, Robert (Teresa) Crowell, William (Evonne) Crowell, and Scott (Rhanda) Williams; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Martha Williams and Edward Richard Williams.
Ken leaves behind a legacy of generosity, humor, and heartfelt connection. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 4320 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33966, on May 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his name.
