Obituary

Kevin Andrew Anderson was born October 14, 1962, in Jacksonville, Florida, and died September 14, 2026, in Winter Park, Florida.

Kevin graduated from the University of Florida in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and journalism and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He built a successful career in outdoor advertising and real estate development. In outdoor advertising, he was frequently recognized as a top performer. He brought high energy, enthusiasm, and tenacity to his work.

Kevin had a booming laugh, a charismatic personality, and an outward optimism that made almost anything seem possible. He never met a stranger and approached people and life with seemingly endless curiosity. He loved a good book, delighted in learning new things, and developed an impressive vocabulary. He was always ready to share the meaning of an interesting word—or offer its proper pronunciation.

Music was a lifelong pleasure. Kevin played piano, drums, bongos, tambourine, and shaker eggs, and could launch into the opening of what seemed like a thousand songs—even if he didn’t always make it to the ending. Playing and listening to music together were among Kevin and his boys’ favorite activities. As a young musician, he played in a band called Maitland Interchange.

Kevin could build or fix just about anything, and he loved putting that ingenuity to work with his boys. Hoverboards and potato guns were among their favorite projects, with Lake Sybelia serving as the testing ground. He also spent countless hours making his yard beautiful. His attention to detail extended all the way down to selecting—and closely supervising—the exact type of mulch to be used.

Fearless and ready for adventure, Kevin also found richness in life’s simplest pleasures: floating in the pool, sharing a homemade dinner, paddling at sunset, or mowing the grass. He was the founding member of the family’s “6'4" Club,” a distinction he eventually shared with all three of his sons. Together, they loved the outdoors and being on the water, whether surfing, paddleboarding, rowing, or boating to Dog Island. There, they explored past the tiki and throne before heading back to ‘go big’ on the rope swing under a warm setting sun.

Kevin found faith and fellowship at Grace Church in Maitland and among his brothers and sisters in the Life Recovery program at Action Church in Winter Park.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Ann Stringfellow Anderson; his sons, Michael Andrew Anderson, Ethan Favret Anderson, and Matthew George Anderson, all of the Maitland area. He is also survived by his brother, Keith Anderson, and Keith’s wife, Traci Price Anderson, of Eustis, Florida, and their sons, Kyle and Logan; and his sister, Ashley Anderson Sheets, and her husband, Tim Sheets, of Texas, and their children, Brandon, Abigale, and Andrew; and longtime partner, Sherry Duvall. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Anderson, and his nephew, Shane Anderson.

Friends and family are invited to join our Celebration of Life on October 17, 2026 at the Venue on Lake Lily in Maitland from 2 -5 pm.
