Obituary

Kevin William Talamini, 58, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by those he loved, on May 29, 2026.

Kevin was born on January 16, 1968, in Somerville, NJ, and grew up in Manville, NJ. As a young child he carried around his shoeshine box, tending to patrons as he became an independent earner for things he wanted. Kevin continued his hard work as he entered the carpentry industry. In 1992, the same year his son Anthony was born, Kevin founded Kevin Talamini Construction, LLC. What began as a vision grew into a successful nationwide commercial construction company. For 26 years, he led his business with grit, integrity, and determination, taking great pride in both the work itself and the relationships built along the way.

In 1997, Kevin settled with his family in Ringoes, New Jersey, where he purchased his first home and expanded his business. There, he built a life centered around hard work, family, and time spent at home. His happy place was his garage, where he spent countless hours working on projects and enjoying the company of family and friends. The Ringoes home provided simple serenity for Kevin whether cutting his grass, sitting on his front porch watching all the wildlife, mixing music and bonfires, or chilling poolside, Kevin truly felt blessed.

Fishing was one of Kevin’s greatest passions. As an avid fisherman, he participated in numerous tournaments and earned several awards throughout the years. Most special to Kevin was competing in the 2016 “26 Angels Foundation Tournament” in support of the Newtown, CT community, where he and his friend Len Salvatore proudly took home 3rd place. For Kevin, any day spent on the water was a good day, but especially when it was just him and Anthony.

Kevin will always be remembered for his incredible humor. He had a remarkable gift for bringing memories to life through storytelling. Although he told the story many times, it never got old because of his passion to make those around him laugh and feel connected.

Above all else, Kevin’s greatest love was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Jayna; his son, Anthony, Anthony’s wife, Joëlle; and his beloved granddaughter, Caïah Ivy. He is also survived by his brothers, Joseph Talamini (Mary) and Anthony J. Talamini III; his sisters, Denise Willever (Bruce), Kim Fosko (Charles Miller), and Tonua Karns (Keith); nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, as well as his loyal companions, Tessa (“Meatball”) and Ghost.

He also leaves behind lifelong friends who became family and shared countless memories throughout the years: Chris and Tina Cicero, Rob O’Keefe, the Deresky family, Kowalski family as well as many other cherished friends. Their friendship, loyalty, and love were a treasured part of his life,

A special place in Kevin’s heart was reserved for the young men he deeply cared for and played a meaningful role in their lives: Mike Stevelman, “Right-Hand Man”; Nicholas Scarpa,“El Scarpo”; and Trey Leggett. He was proud to serve as a father figure to each of them and valued the lasting impact they had on one another’s lives

Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary Ellen Talamini and Anthony J. Talamini II, and his faithful companions Tazz Man, Rosko, Tori-Girl, and Hannibal. We take comfort in imagining a joyful reunion, with wagging tails waiting to welcome him home.

Kevin’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the friendships he valued, the lives he touched, and the stories that will continue to be shared in his honor. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, please take a moment to think of the last time Kevin made you laugh, then hug a loved one in Kevin’s honor!
