Kristi Diane Gilchrist, age 56 died suddenly March 28, 2015 at her home in Orlando. Private cremation with a life celebration at a later date.
Born in Houston, Texas in 1958, Kristi spent much of her life in academic pursuits. She graduated from Wahconah Regional High School in Dalton, MA, class of 1977. Kristi held degrees in Music Therapy and Communications as well as a Master of Divinity and Human Resources.
Kristi had a broad and varied career path that included broadcasting, hospital Chaplain, working in the NY public school system and as a Human Resources Manager for several companies.
Kristi will forever be remembered for her many talents. Whether painting, writing poetry or playing instruments, her creativity shone. The joy she brought to those around her will be greatly missed. The courage with which she battled mental illness was inspirational to those who knew her. Kristi put all of her energy into living each day with as much love and grace as possible, doing her best to bring joy to those around her.
Kristi is survived by her two daughters, Grace and Francis Mell, her life partner Bob Smith and his son Aidan, her mother, Lee Murphy, her sisters Glenda Keiper, Tricia Gilchrist and Katheryn Cote, and 11 nieces and nephews and 8 grand-nieces and nephews.
