Larry J. Brookshire Sr, age 78, of Daytona Shores FL (formerly of Dalton GA for 75 years) died of health complications at Halifax Hospital on March 31st, 2022, in Port Orange FL. He is preceded in death by his parents John Brookshire & Pearl Queen Brookshire of Dalton, Ga. brothers, Jimmy Brookshire, Robert "Bobby" Brookshire, Wilber Brookshire, Anthony (Tony) Brookshire, sisters, Truda Bright and Pam Ball, all of the Dalton Ga area. Daughter, Sloan Brookshire of Chattanooga, TN. Larry is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of 48 years Kathryn Brookshire of Daytona Beach Shores FL (formerly of Dalton GA), his son Larry Jr (Fonda) Brookshire of Powder Springs GA, daughter Rachel (Todd) Bolden of Sugar Valley GA, his son Robert (Toni) Brookshire of Dallas, GA, his daughter Bernice (Martin) Caldwell of Varnell GA, and his son John (Tammy) Burkett of Dalton, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Larry graduated from Dalton High School. He was an avid sportsman and had a love of golf, bass fishing, softball and enjoyed spending time at the beach during his retirement. He worked in the textile industry for over 40 years and developed many long-lasting friendships.
