On February 20, 2021, Larry Zelensky, died after a short illness in Port Orange, Florida. Larry was born on January 18, 1956 at St. Francis Hospital in Hamtramck, Michigan to Leon and Mary (nee: Kerns) Zelensky. He attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Centerline High School. After graduation, he attended the Center for Creative Studies.
His life was filled with art and music. He was a remarkable artist and creative talent. He established his company, Human Touch Graphic Design, 30 years ago and worked with many wonderful people, producing advertising and marketing campaigns for a wide variety of clients. He also recently started a new venture, Detroit Design Works.
Larry and Debbie were able to spend quality time in South Daytona, Florida, enjoying the things he loved, sunshine, water and warm weather. He lived life to the fullest, attending concerts, dinner with friends, bike rides, walking his dogs and at least 20 trips to Key West.
Larry is survived by his life partner, Debbie Powell, of 32 years, his mother Mary Zelensky, sister Cheryl (Robin) Caruss, brother David (Angela) Zelensky, many nieces, nephews, other family members, close friends and fur daughters, Roxie and Sophie.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Leon.
Donations can be made to the Michigan Humane Society or any animal rescue organization of your choice.
For Larry, life was a journey, sometimes not knowing what lay around the next bend, but confident it would be worth the trip. A life celebration will be held in Michigan later this year.
