• Laura Eifert, 67, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, love, adventure, and memories that will forever bring smiles to the faces of those who knew her.

• Born on December 2, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, Laura was the beloved daughter of Maryann and Leonard. She spent most of her life in Michigan before making one of her dreams come true in 2022, when she and her husband, Greg, moved to Venice, Florida, to enjoy retirement and the life they had dreamed of together.

• Laura spent her career working in IT as a database administrator, retiring on June 16, 2023. But while her career was an important part of her life, Laura was never someone who believed life was meant to be spent simply working. She believed in enjoying it—and she did. 
• 
  
• Laura had an extraordinary zest for life. She loved to travel, dance, sing, listen to country and Broadway music, pick out a great outfit, discover new restaurants and, perhaps most famously, seek out a good tiki bar. She had visited countless tiki bars and restaurants and could always be counted on for the best recommendations. If you needed to know where to go for a great drink, a memorable meal, or a fun night out, Laura was the person to ask.

• Some of Laura's happiest memories were made on the water. While raising Kristen in Lake Orion, Michigan, summer weekends were often spent on the boat with Greg, Kristen, and friends. There was dancing, drinking, laughter, and good company, all surrounded by the lake Laura loved so much. Those weekends captured Laura perfectly—she loved being surrounded by the people she loved, enjoying the moment, and making memories.

• Laura also knew how to turn her own backyard into a destination. She and Greg loved sitting around a bonfire in their beautiful backyard, enjoying their tiki bar, a good drink, music, and each other's company. The neighbors knew that when they smelled a fire, there was a good chance Laura and Greg were outside enjoying another evening together. It was just another way Laura made ordinary moments feel like something worth celebrating.

• Her love for animals was just as strong. Dolphins held a special place in her heart, and before meeting Greg, Laura fulfilled a dream by participating in a dolphin program at the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys. Later in life, her love of animals led her to volunteer at her local humane society, where she helped lead capybara meet-and-greet experiences. Capybaras became another one of her great loves.

• And then there was Sash, her beloved dog and, in Laura's eyes, her son. She loved him fiercely and treated him as a member of the family in every sense of the word. Sash was one of the great loves of her life, and Laura is now reunited with her beloved boy, who undoubtedly greeted her with the same unconditional love and excitement he gave her throughout his life.

• Above all else, Laura was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was the loving wife of Greg Eifert, whom she married in March 1994. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, friendship, and adventure. 
• 
  
• Laura was especially devoted to her only daughter, Kristen. The two shared an incredibly close bond, and Laura would do anything for her daughter. Some of their happiest times were the simplest ones: shopping together, stopping for lunch and a glass of wine, or spending a rainy day at home watching Hallmark movies or scary movies. To Laura, time spent with Kristen was time well spent.

• Laura was funny, kind, selfless, strong-willed, and full of life. She was never afraid to stand up for what she believed was right. She had a way of making people laugh and making everyone around her feel like they belonged. She was the life of the party—the person people wanted to be around—and she left an impression wherever she went.

• Laura's life was a reminder that life is meant to be lived. She embraced the things that brought her joy, loved her family fiercely, made room for adventure, and never seemed to lose her ability to have fun. She found happiness in a great song, a night of dancing, a glass of wine, a new restaurant, a tiki bar, a boat ride with family and friends, a backyard bonfire, a beloved animal, a trip with family, and countless other little moments that made life worth celebrating.

• Laura is survived by her husband, Greg Eifert; her daughter, Kristen Eifert; her sister, Maryann; and countless family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maryann and Leonard, and her sister, Valinda, who passed away in 2022. 
• 
  
• Laura would want those she leaves behind to remember her not simply with sadness, but with laughter, music, adventure, and a willingness to enjoy every moment life has to offer. 
• 
  
• Live a little more like Laura. Find the joy. Take the trip. Have the cocktail. Dance to the music. Love your people fiercely. And never forget to enjoy the life you have.

• Her greatest legacy will not be measured by the years she lived, but by the love, laughter, and joy she brought into the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
