Laura Ann
Gerow
Mar 15, 1953 — Jun 20, 2026
Laura Ann (Bishop) (Sinns) Gerow left to be with the Lord on June 20th, 2026, after a sudden cardiovascular event. She was predeceased by her parents Robert Lee Bishop and Jane Bishop; a brother Randy Bishop and her oldest son Chance Sinns (Lauren). Laura is survived by her husband Donald Gerow, two sons Derek Robert Sinns (Alex) and Brett Bishop Sinns; two stepsons Andrew Gerow and David Gerow (Emilia), and two brothers Richard Bishop (Barbara) and Steven Bishop (Kellie) and a large extended family.
Laura is a true Floridian, born and educated in Winter Park where she spent most of her life. Over the years she kept in close touch with many of her childhood friends and neighbors, but her beautiful smile, quick wit and caring personality made her fast friends with everyone.
After graduation Laura went to work at Walt Disney World as an original cast member. She was one of many on the cover of Life magazine’s October ’71 issue. She married a Disney coworker, Michael Sinns, and moved to the Carolinas while he served in the USMC and soon found herself chasing three little boys. She eventually returned to Winter Park working at the hospital there for over thirty years. In 2002 she met and married Donald Gerow.
A prolific writer, Laura has written over 400 short stories and cowrote a beautiful tribute song “I Give You Now” about her boys. She enjoyed bowling, entertaining and always had a new flower or plant to nurture. Laura especially enjoyed happy times with her grandchildren and always found an activity to engage them; reading, baking, coloring… baby laughter is simply the best.
After retiring to Ocala, Laura was quickly befriended by many and became actively involved with several community activities. She was the first editor of “Cruzing LV News”, the Liberty Village newsletter, started and hosted a ladies exercise group and another group focused on wellbeing.
Laura was indeed everyone’s friend. Her light will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community. Heaven is a little bit brighter now.
