Lawrence "Larry" Brett, 92, of The Village of Calumet Grove, The Villages, FL, passed on Sept. 1, 2026.

Larry was born in New York, NY, Jan. 3, 1934, and moved from Parkville, MO, with his family to The Villages, FL in 2022.

He is survived by his wife Jean and son, Lawrence, two grandsons, Connor and Brandon, two great grandchildren Beckham and Josie of Missouri, and a sister, Maureen Browne of The Bronx, NY.

He was predeceased by his parents, Josephine and Stephen Brett and a sister, Carol Ann Pinkowski.

Larry earned his Masters degree from Webster College and was employed for the airlines in various positions. He retired from TWA as Director of Engineering.

While in The Villages he volunteered for the Emergency Response Team and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus where he volunteered delivering donuts to the local VA once a month.

A Korean War Veteran, he served in the Navy from 1952-1956 and was a Reservist until 1960. Larry was a member of the American Legion, Lady Lake, FL.

He loved camping and canoeing with his family. Always an adventurist, Larry climbed to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa, in the 1980's.

His interment in Florida National Cemetery will be on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 11:00.
