Obituary

MULLAN, LAWRENCE A. -  Larry Mullan, 78, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009.   Larry was a United States Marine Corps sniper during the Korean War and later went on to teach at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando for more than two decades.  An avid history buff, Larry also was a rabid New York Yankees fan, having pitched for them before he enlisted in the Marines.  Larry and his wife of 46 years, Anne, moved to New Smyrna Beach nearly 20 years ago.  Larry is also survived by his daughter, Mariann and her husband, Charley, of New Smyrna Beach.  He has four grandchildren: Christopher, Alex, Chas and Janna.  He also has two brothers Dick (Horty) and Philip and a sister Betsy, all of whom live in New York.  Larry took pride in being a member of the VFW and the Korean War Veteran's Association.   He loved to visit with his friends, go to Clancy's and will miss being a part of that great crew of folks. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler  www.hovf.org  or  3800 Woodbriar Trail    Port Orange, FL 32129. 11:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church 4000 South Atlantic Avenue New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169 on January 19, 2009 (map/driving directions)
