Lawrence Purtzenski, age 78, of Leesburg, Florida died March 12, 2023, at UF Hospital in Leesburg.

He was born December 10, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph Purtzenski and Eleanor (Bobowski) Purtzenski.

On December 23, 2008, he married Kathryn Stahl in Marshfield, Wisconsin and she survives.

Larry had been employed by Acar Broach prior to retirement. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1969 as a medical corpsman. He enjoyed photography, hunting, fishing, reading and was an avid University of Michigan sports fan. He was a member of the United Church of Christ and the American Legion Post #176 in Clinton, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret (Peggy) Shortway. In addition to his wife, Kathy, he is survived by his stepdaughter, Kathryn Margaret (Bruce) Loebrich of Toledo, Ohio and his sisters Joella Braun and Nancy Purtzenski both of Tavares, Florida.

At Larry's request, cremation has taken place. A short memorial service with be held on March 30 at 1PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
