Leo ("Lee") Albert Herkner, 75, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Hope, Michigan passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 after losing his battle with cancer.  Leo was born August 31, 1942 in Edenville, Michigan, son of Leo R. and Betty (Geiling) Herkner. He graduated from Midland High School.  After serving in the Marines Leo went to work for The Dow Chemical Company.  He retired from the Security Department in 1996.

Leo married the former Wanda Groner in 1965 in Edenville.  Leo is survived by his wife and their children: Kelly Herkner of Vanderbilt, Lorie (Ray) Bis of Ortonville and Brigitte (Chris) Jones of South Lyon. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are his siblings: Richard (Deb) Herkner of Hope and Gale (Carla) Herkner of Midland.  He was predeceased in death by his parents.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, Ocala, Florida. Leo will be laid to rest May 25, 2018 at the Florida National Cemetery for veterans, Bushnell, Florida.
