Leola “Faye” Basinger, 77, of Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026,
surrounded by her children.
Born on December 23, 1948, in Winfield, West Virginia. Faye moved to Ft Myers as a child and made it her lifelong home.
Faye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared a marriage with
her husband, Bradley Alan Basinger, and together they created a family that meant
everything to her.
She was deeply dedicated to her work at Yoder Brothers for over 20 years, where she earned
multiple awards and recognitions for her commitment and strong work ethic. Faye took pride
in everything she did and was admired by many for her loyalty and dedication.
Outside of work, Faye loved spending time in her yard gardening and working with plants. She
found peace and happiness in caring for flowers and making the world around her beautiful.
Faye is survived by her husband, Bradley Alan Basinger; her son, Gavin (Aida) Basinger; her
daughters, Wendy (Scott) Deane, and Gaylin (Mark) Howell; her cherished grandchildren, Troy
Alan James, Madilyn Rose Bresee, and Carly Faye Bresee; her sisters Anne (Paul) Melko and
Nonie (Charlie) Still; her brothers, Bob (Janet) Erwin, and Larry Erwin; along with many nieces
and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Erwin; her mother, Edith Erwin; her brothers
Bill Erwin and John Erwin, her sister, Becky Bess; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Erwin; and
nephews, Joey Admire and Derek Bess.
Faye will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, strength, and
unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Faye’s memory to the Alzheimer’s
Association.
