Obituary

In loving and caring memory of my Aunt Leona Mae (Lagace) (Grenier) Watts. Many of us affectionately called her, Aunt Leona. It's hard to believe she has left us, I am reminded of the warmth, laughter, and love she showed me. I was special to her and she was special to me.

Leona was born on October 10, 1960, and she graced this world for 64 wonderful years. She was a woman of moderate faith, holding her Christian beliefs close to her heart. But beyond her faith, what truly defined her was her boundless love for her family. She was a devoted mother of 3. She raised her children in New Hampshire; Jessica, Johnny Jr., and Nicole, and a doting grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren, her family meant the world to her.

For me, she was more than just an aunt; she was my confidante, my partner in crime, and my friend. Some of my fondest memories with her involve pulling pranks on my cousin Selena, we went frog hunting and found the biggest toad we could and put him in her pillow…our laughter filling the room as we cackled about or shenanigans!

Leona had a way of making everything more fun. Her humor was infectious. She was the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a story to share. But what I will miss the most about her is the way she listened. I could talk to her about anything, knowing she would never judge me but offer comfort and wisdom instead.

She loved the beach, basking in the sun and the soothing sound of the waves. And though we drifted apart in recent years, as life often takes us in different directions in life the love was always there.

Leona leaves behind her sisters, Michelle and Angela, her brother Raymond, her cousin Lyra, and her nieces and nephew—Melissa, Danielle, Rachel, Melinda, Selena and Michael and her best friend Ms. Kay who was her biggest supporter. She loved Leona very much. Her family was large and spread out, but the bond she shared with each of us was unique and special.

As we say goodbye to Leona, she may have left this world, but her spirit and the love she gave will continue to guide us. Her mother, Norma, and her sister Sharlene are waiting for her at the gates of heaven. She won't feel any more pain. Leona left us on good Friday 4/18/2025 12:57 am.  She's going home to be at peace in the arms of the Angels. She will be forever in our hearts and memories. We will all miss you forever, Leona. With love,  your family and friends. Rest in Godly peace.
