Beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa (papa) and brother passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle with cancer at the age of 82. He was the son of Harold and Dorothy (Dey) George, Lerman was born December 30, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan, He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Germany.

He married Connie Jean Hogue, his loving wife of 59 years, on August 5, 1967. She survives him. Lerman worked at General Motors and retiring after 31 years. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers along with his John Wayne movies.

Surviving besides his wife Connie are two daughters, Sandi (Matt) Laubhan, Cape Coral, Florida and Kimberly Howard, Cape Coral, Florida; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Nycole), Brandon (Micayah), Alyssa (Koby) and Megan; four great-grandchildren, Harper, Xander, Arthur and Rylee. He has four sisters and two brothers, Coriean Burgoyne, Ann Dinninger, Connie and Mike Lazarro, Steven and Kathy Geoge, Richard and Melinda George, Rita and Steven Franks; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Lerman was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold (Duke) George Jr, Gary George and Michael George.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
