Leroy "Ty" Cobb, 82, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on April 22, 2025, after a two-year illness. Ty was born on March 15, 1943, to Leroy Thomas and Ida Louise Cobb in Tallahassee, Florida. He graduated from Leon High School in Tallahassee, and Florida State University with a degree in Criminology. He worked in Health and Human Services for the State of Florida for his entire 40-year career.

Ty married Mary Fred Crawford on August 2, 1981. He is survived by Mary Fred and three children: Matthew Miller (Natalie Phillips), Leah Wallace (Matt Wallace), and Sarah Cobb (Andrew Catalano); and six grandchildren: Delaney, Madeline, Zoe, Kai, Lucy, and River. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Thomas and Louise Cobb, and his sister, Sandra King.

Ty enjoyed all things FSU, traveling, golf, adventures with his wonderful friends, and spending time with his family and his dog Sammy. He was known for his many tall tales, sense of humor, generous nature, and love of family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

There are no immediate plans for a service; details for a memorial gathering will be shared by the family at a later date.
