Obituary

Linda Kay English (née McKee) was born on April 29th, 1942, in Wellington, Kansas to C.E. “Mac” and Imogene McKee. She was called home on February 25th, 2026, at the age of 83. She was a daughter, sister, wife, Mom, grandma (grams), and great-grandma, and most of all, she was a force to be reckoned with.

Small in stature at a bit over 5 feet, with red hair (or brown, or blonde, or sometimes all three) her Irish spirit was undaunted until the end. She threw “birthday parties for Jesus” at Christmas in her younger days, made “artistic” choices in interior decorating (yes, you can carpet an entire family room with different colors and patterns of carpet squares), and she made zucchini bread – and cake – and casserole, before it was “a thing”. And then there were “the Kris Kringles”, best cookie ever. She raised three boys, and a husband, multiple dogs and cats, and made friends everywhere she went.

Moving around the Country for many years, settling her family in new locations many times, making more friends along the way, Linda never met a stranger. She went on adventures from Tahiti, to Italy, to dune buggy trips to Mexico and many more. She loved to dance. Whether competitive – she was part of a Senior Olympics team that won Gold – or just for fun – we’re pretty sure the Moose lodge misses her – dancing was a passion for her. In her last days, she was seen “air dancing” and counting her steps – and smiling. We’re pretty sure she was dancing her way to Heaven. A fitting path for her to take. Throughout her life, she laughed often, loved deeply, and was deeply loved in return.

She is survived by her sons and their wives – Joel and Jennifer, Jeff and Laura, Jay and Sharon, her six Grandchildren, and her five Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.E and Imogene, her brother Farrell, her husband Jerry, and her grandson Ryan.

Those of us who carry on her legacy will miss her more than words can say, but we know she is at peace and she is now with all those who went before and in a better place. The impact she had will be felt for years to come, and she will be well remembered by all who knew her. In the end, there could not be a better tribute to a life well lived.

We love you Mom – Always, and Forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Longmont, Colorado at a later date.
