Obituary

Linda Marie Alessio Jericka, 71, died peacefully surrounded by her family the 11th day of February, 2026, at her home in Port Charlotte, Florida after a short battle with a cancerous brain tumor.

Linda was born December 17th, 1954, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to James Charles Alessio and Edith Marion Reagle. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. Linda graduated in 1972 from Carlynton High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Linda met Donald Jericka while they worked together and were married in September of 1977, and were married for 36 years. They raised 2 children, Christopher Donald and Dawn Marie. They moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, in 1981. Linda worked for many years at K-Mart and retired as their receiving manager. She also worked as a manager for Charlotte County Speedway and for Desoto County Speedway. Later she was a manager for Habitat for Humanity Store. Linda was saved at First Alliance Church of Port Charlotte on May 3rd, 1987, and attended The Rock Calvary Chapel in her later years. Linda loved her family and being a grandmother, and she loved auto racing.

Linda Marie Alessio Jericka is survived by her son, Christopher Donald Jericka, his wife Melissa and their daughter Talia, as well as by her daughter Dawn Marie Jericka. Linda is also survived by all her siblings Debbie Maust, Tony Alessio, Jimmy Alessio, and Dede Buckmaster. In keeping with Lindas' wishes, her remains have been cremated and given to her children.

Linda’s Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 27th at 1pm at her church, The Rock Calvary Chapel, at 2230 Hariet St, Port Charlotte, Florida, and then also later at 5pm at The Turner Agri-Civic Center Exhibit Hall, of 2250 NE Roan Street, Arcadia, Florida.
