Linda Shirley Neate, age 70, beloved sister and aunt, entered peacefully into eternal life on February 22, 2025 in Ocala, Florida.

Linda was a graduate of Washington Township High School, Sewell, New Jersey, class of 1972.  She later graduated cosmetology school in NJ.  Linda worked briefly in a salon and although she loved hair, makeup and fashion, she went on to other types of work.  One of her favorite jobs was as a hostess at McDonald's, where she enjoyed greeting customers and giving birthday parties and tours for children.

After moving to Florida from New Jersey, Linda was a long time resident of the towns of Ocala and Margate, Florida. Linda was a kind and spiritual person who loved God. By God's grace, and with the support of her friends in the 441 Group and the Hope Team, Linda was a friend of Bill's for over 30 years.

Linda was generous and often helped those in need, even if they were strangers. She loved nature and wildlife, and had a special place in her heart for pets she knew or owned, particularly her beloved cat, "Keddy." Linda enjoyed shows about the animal kingdom and nature, classic B&W movies and music.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn (Bloomstrand) Neate, father, James J. Neate and sister, Karen Sue Neate. She is survived by her siblings, James T. (Pam) Neate of Roanoke, VA, Marilyn (Jeff) Wintrow of Wirtz, VA, Nancy (Edward) Monaghan of Ocala, FL, John (Alicia) Neate of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, 11:00 AM at the Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 11250 SW 93rd Ct Rd, Ocala, FL 34481 (352) 236-7813.

Linda will be deeply missed by her family and those who knew her gentle spirit and kind ways. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Human Society or Hospice of Marion County FL.
