Obituary

Linda Abrams Wallace, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in the Citrus Hills community of Hernando, FL, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 87 years old.

Born on November 17, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, Linda's life was marked by love, dedication, and an indomitable spirit. She graduated from Emerson College and pursued a career as a speech pathologist, helping many through her compassion and expertise.

In 1959, Linda married the love of her life, Herbert Irving Wallace, and together they built a beautiful life over 66 years of marriage. They raised their family in Newton, Massachusetts, spending cherished summers with the entire Wallace family on L Street in Nantasket Beach. They created lasting memories going to the beach and taking many amazing family trips along the coast on their boat.

Linda was an avid tennis player and a fierce competitor, playing adult doubles with her amazing Tennis Girls. She remained passionate about the sport for most of her life, later continuing to play competitively after she and Herb retired to Florida. Alongside tennis, she found joy in golf, book clubs, and the company of great friends. One of her greatest delights was to travel up to Maine each summer, for big family weekend gatherings. She was also deeply involved in local womens clubs, dedicating her time to raising funds for charitable causes.

Above all, Linda's greatest love was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Herb, and their three daughters: Stacey Wallace Colarusso and her husband, Thomas Colarusso; Corie Wallace; and Kim Wallace Kimball and her husband, Marc Kimball. She was a cherished grandmother to Ryan Colarusso and his partner, Eliana Pacheco; Lucy Colarusso and her fiancé, Dean Legg; and Evan Wallace and his wife, Rebecca, who gave Linda the joy of being a great-grandmother to little Corinne.

Linda's love of life, family and indombitable spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A private family celebration of Linda's life will be held in Maine at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made in her honor and in recognition of her cancer fighting idol, Diane Legg, to Lungstrong https://www.lungstrong.org/
