Lloyd Venable Gibbons, 95, of South Daytona, Florida passed away on May 3, 2017 at the Port Orange Rehabilitation Center. He was born on December 11, 1921 in Scarsdale, New York to the late Richard and Nathalie Gibbons. Lloyd was a Veteran of the United States Army obtaining the rank of Captain, and served as a Medical Battalion Officer during World War II with the 3rd Army, 11th Armored Division. After the service, he worked as a Watch Supervisor for Con Edison at the East River Power Plant in Manhattan, New York, retiring after 32 years. He is a member of the VFW and he enjoyed golfing and traveling. Lloyd is survived by his son, Brian Gibbons and his wife Toni of Port Orange; his son, Kevin Gibbons and his wife Trisha of South Daytona; his brother, John Gibbons of New Bern, North Carolina; his granddaughter, Anitra Frawley of Middletown, New York; his granddaughter, Marlena Kelly of New York, New York; and his great-grandson, Nicholas Frawley of Middletown, New York. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Gibbons and his siblings Richard, Jeannette, Frank, and Joseph. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Lloyd to the VFW of your choosing.
