Lorna "Dainty" Ann
Snape
March 30, 1959 – March 31, 2026
Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society
2:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Lorna Ann Snape, affectionately known as “Dainty” to close family and friends, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026 in Ocala, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, quiet strength, and love for her family. Born in Jamaica, West Indies on March 30, 1959, Lorna immigrated with her family to New York as a very young child. She graduated from Clarkstown South High School class of 1977.
In her late twenties, she and her mother moved to Florida and Lorna went to work for a drapery company as secretary. Through her commitment and exceptional work ethic, she rose quickly to the position of office manager, a role she held with pride and professionalism for over 30 years. In her time there, she had the pleasure of overseeing many big projects, including onsite management of projects for celebrities and sports figures.
Lorna was very private and never married or had children of her own, but she was caregiver to many cats through the years, and was a devoted matriarch for the family. Over the last year, she found great comfort and joy living with her niece, Krystal, her niece’s husband Lorenzo. She also had the pleasure of enjoying the company and affection of her great nephews and nieces, and spending lots of time with her brand new great-great nieces.
Lorna is preceded in death by father, Wilfred Michael Snape, mother, Ita Pearl Snape-Bennett, and brother, Norman Snape. She is survived by her brothers, Errol Jackson, Owen Snape, and Godfrey Snape, her only sister, Jacqueline Bouazzaoui, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who miss her dearly already.
Funeral services will be held on April 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 11250 SW 93rd Ct. Road, Suite #300, Ocala, FL 34481.
She will be remembered for her patience, strength, loyalty, and steady presence she brought to those who knew and loved her.
