Obituary

Lourine Adina Dale was born Lourine Adina Miller at Victoria Jubilee Hospital on August 7, 1937 to Ian Miller and Myrtle May Stewart in Kingston, Jamaica where she grew up. In 1960, Lourine wed Byron Dale. The couple grew their family to four children, each born two years apart. Lourine, fondly known as Adina, had three sons, Ludlow, Michael and Delroy. Soon after, her wish for a daughter finally came true when Carol arrived in 1964, breaking her streak of having boys. Carol was the apple of her eye. The kids lived happy lives covered by Lourine's love. The house was filled with joy and her children benefited from Lourine's love for baking, sports and entertainment. Her exceptional cooking skills often drew people to her. She was witty, dynamic, intelligent and understanding, making her the ultimate mother. Upon emigrating to Brooklyn, NY, Lourine joined her kids who were already in the states. She was a dedicated employee of The Home Depot for many years. Lourine loved playing dominoes and was known for giving her opponents "six love". She traveled and made friends doing just that. Lourine shared laughs with her dear friend turned adopted son, Dwight over countless domino games. In a domino game or in life, it was always great to have her on your team. The ultimate competitor, she also enjoyed spending time at Atlantic City. However, nothing was greater than her love for family. Lourine doted over her sons. She cherished her one and only daughter, Carol, whom she lived with intermittently for years. The two were confidants and as close as mother and daughter could be. Lourine adored all of her grandchildren near and far, but shared an extra special bond with Kimesha and Kristina. Lourine is survived by her daughter and sons, grandchildren, beloved Aunt Pearlie, daughter-in-law Sandra and many friends who became family. When remembering her, please know that she has finally reunited with her mother who she spoke of often and missed dearly. May Lourine's zest for life live on forever as we honor her legacy.
