Lucinda Slomkowski, 64, died 23 rd April 2018, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, FL after a 33 year battle against cancer. Her memorial service and celebration of new life service will be held Thursday, May 10 th at 2pm EST. Location: East Coast Believers Church, 3053 W State Rd 426, Oviedo, FL 32765.
Ms Slomkowski is survived by her mother, Loleen Clarke; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Douglas Guthrie; her precious grandchildren, William and Alana Guthrie; her step-grandchildren, Megan and Amanda Guthrie; her brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Diane Clarke; her nephew and nieces, Conor and Alexis Clarke and Tara Kenny. She is preceded in death by her father, William Claude Clarke.
Lucinda Slomkowski, born in Steator, Illinois grew up as a child of the navy which took her to Chichi-jima, Japan and then to Orlando after her father was discharged from the military in 1965. She graduated from Maynard Evans High School. In 1974, she married Ronald Slomwkowski and moved to various locations during their 9 years of marriage. When she returned with her daughter in 1985, to Orlando where she would work as a banker and accountant until she retired on disability. This retirement allowed her to be a "Nana" to her grandchildren and help rear them until her transition.
Her memorial service and celebration of new life service is scheduled for Thursday, May 10 th at East Coast Believers Church, 3053 W State Rd 426, Oviedo, FL 32765, at 2pm EST. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of the Comforter at http://www.hospiceofthecomforter.org/ (press the big red "give now" box). The family would like to send their sincere gratitude to all the caregivers, hospital staff, nurses, doctors, and friends that have been involved in Lucinda's life and care.
